| We first opened in 1982 as a one man operation and grew into a small family company. In those days, we had very limited equipment and operated from a small rented warehouse - but we always had a vision to deliver new innovations to the snack food market. | ||||||||
We realised that prawn crackers were offered in Asian restaurants but not readily available to the everyday Australian consumer. It was in 1982 that we launched our first product of Prawn Crackers to the supermarkets for all to enjoy. In 1987 we introduced Pork Cracklings to Australia for the very first time. This was a very exciting innovation as it is a nutritious snack that is not only delicious to eat but is also high in protein (65%) and has zero carbohydrates. Since then Gold Medal Snackfoods has moved from strength to strength to where it is today. |
